| | | Health Impacts from Heat: What to Know and What You Can Do
Wednesday, February 8th @ 4pm PT | | Please join the League of Women Voters of Piedmont on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, from 4-5pm for an illuminating and compelling talk by Dr. Rupa Basu, speaking on the known and quantified negative healthcare impacts of climate pollution and also the known, achievable, current-day solutions for reducing and avoiding heat-related health risks.

| | Learn what it will take to reach zero emissions in automobile transportation in California. What are potential pitfalls associated with EVs, e.g. the need for vastly greater supplies of lithium and the water needed to process those supplies? Given the current market penetration of EVs, how long is it likely to take for EVs to make a significant difference in emissions? Are there other breakthrough possibilities on the horizon that could make a difference?

| | Know a student who wants to make a difference in their community and engage their fellow students in the democratic process? LWVP's interns learn skills to become effective communicators and leaders while taking action to better our community.
Spring Internship Application Deadline: extended to February 15, 2023
PHS, MHS, Piedmont residents attending private schools, and local college and university students are welcome to apply for the LWVP Internship Program. Students will learn about the League, Voting Rights, and Voter Registration, and help us reach out to young people in our community.
