LWV holds January 6th Remembrance and Action sundown vigil
Published on 1/14/2023
Leagues throughout Alameda County and California hosted a January 6th Remembrance and Action sundown vigil to remember the insurrection on January 6, 2021 and take action.
The event featured LWV of the United States CEO, Virginia Kase Solomón, who is a tireless leader on the national stage fighting for our democratic freedoms using advocacy, coalition building, direct action, litigation and more. After Virginia Kase Solomón fielded questions from the audience, Carol Moon Goldberg, President of LWV California gave comments about the League's work at the state level followed by comments from work at the Bay Area level from Roma Dawson, President of LWV of the Bay Area. The evening closed with a call to action.
